Security / ISPS

Over the last few years the need for security has increasingly come to the fore, and the shipping and logistics sector is no exception. This concerns the protection of port facilities, ships, goods and – of course – people. Considering the present cargo structure, we at O’Swaldkai obviously take this subject very seriously.

The continuously increasing international security requirements are met by national measures and international initiatives such as the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS), which were introduced a few years ago.

Since July 2004 work at O'Swaldkai has been carried out according to the requirements and conditions of ISPS Code, level 1.

Everything in view / Around the clock

Authorized Port Facility Security Officers (PFSO) direct a large team of security officers here at the O’Swaldkai facilities and are responsible for communication with all relevant authorities. The many members of the security team are in charge of access control for the facilities as well as compliance with security regulations.

Every access to all facilities – whether access to rooms for staff or warehouses, access points for passenger cars and trucks as well as any access to the premises on the waterside – is secured around the clock.

Specially trained personnel are entrusted with the task of supervising sensitive areas or those that are particularly at risk.

Moreover, berths, loading activities and equipment of the vessels are checked in coordination with the relevant Ship Security Officers (SSO) for incoming ships.
